At Hills Self Storage, we take pride in being more than just a storage facility. We love to support local businesses and community members, which is why we were thrilled to host the recent Essex Toy Cave event. The day was packed with excitement, collectables, and a genuine sense of community, creating an experience that brought people together in the most wonderful way.
Open Event Success
The Essex Toy Cave, run by dedicated toy collector Joe, kicked off its long-awaited event, and it didn’t disappoint. We had a fantastic turnout of toy lovers and collectors from Colchester and beyond, all excited to get a close look at rare and vintage items. From classic Star Wars memorabilia to hard-to-find Marvel figures, the day was packed with excitement for both young and old collectors.
The atmosphere was buzzing, and it was great to see everyone enjoying Joe’s impressive collection. Many left beaming, with remote-controlled Daleks and vintage collectables in hand. The event truly captured what the Essex Toy Cave is all about—celebrating the nostalgia of collectables and the thrill of toy hunting.
A Community Coming Together
What made this event even more special was the participation of local businesses. Hills Self Storage was delighted to offer a space for Colchester companies to show off their products. Party Squared, Colchester ECargo, Little Lees Sweeties and Synergy Cosplay were among the businesses that made the day even more enjoyable. It was a fantastic chance for the Colchester business community to unite and engage with the public.
Toy Tombola for St Helena
Alongside the fun and collectables, we raised £78 through the Toy Tombola for St Helena, a local charity dear to many. It was heartening to see visitors support such a great cause while enjoying the event. St Helena does incredible work in our community, and we’re proud to have helped them through this event.
Essex Toy Cave
Joe’s Essex Toy Cave has become a special part of Hills Self Storage. Although it’s only open by appointment, it’s clear that it has a loyal following. Whether you’re hunting for a rare Star Wars figure, classic Marvel memorabilia, or just want to chat with another collector, Joe is always happy to arrange a visit.
